Time to Bring some Cash

It is now 6:45 pm and there are only 12 people in our office.
We have 65 people that work here in Seattle. This is totally
unacceptable.

This company has far too much very important work to do to
have virtually empty offices at 6:45 pm. If anyone thinks that
everything we need to do as a company can be accomplished within an
8 hour day, then I think they fail to understand the scope and
complexity of our venture. Anyone harboring such illusions should
seriously consider a career change. I am sure that I could point to
tasks for every single person in this company that would merit
working past 7 pm every single night.

We have an amazing lead on an outstanding business, but it will
not last forever and we must move faster. As some of you know, we
are lagging behind our revenue goals. We need everyone in
every department working every day to meet and exceed these goals.
We have similar goals in development, sales, business
development, marketing, operations and every other aspect of our
business.

This is not a bank; this is not Boeing. This is a start-up and
we are all expecting to be rewarded for taking the risk of
a start-up. But, there will be no rewards without
exceptional effort.

Given the severity of the situation, I am putting strict
office hours into effect immediately. Until further notice,
all employees are required to be at their desk from 8am until
7pm, with 30 minutes for lunch. There are no exceptions. If you need
to leave early, then you must be at your desk earlier. I am very
sorry that we need to instill such strict guidelines. This is not
usually necessary at a start-up and when the work ethic here begins
to reflect that of a start-up, we can consider more flexibility in
our work hours.

Anyone who has an issue with this new requirement is free to
speak with me. But, there will be no exceptions.

The Ultimate Salesman

There is nothing like the feeling of closing a deal! You can see that clearly with the happiness expressed by John after he just closed a 60,000 US Dollar deal on the spot.

John I forgot to mention you passed your budget last month. Making him a member of TAG- Top Achievers Group

TAG MEMBERS:

  • A1
  • A2
  • A3
  • A4
  • A5

CONGRATULATIONS John!

On our next sales competition we will be looking for the next level in sales… The ultimate salesman! Those are the ones that have the ability to close a client on the first call (OPC- One Call Pitch and Close) or on the first meeting (OMPC)… This differentiates the best sales people (businessmen) from the rest. Has anyone here done a one call / meeting pitch and close?

Commission Letters

Hello Team members:

For next month, it is important that we calculate the new commission structure correctly. Again here are the margins in which we calculate the commission according to the product.

Profit Margins- All campaigns

Product Margin

SEO- 100%

Wikop- 40%

Global Warming- 50%

Sture 50%

City- 40%

TV3- 30%

Double 6%

It is important to remember that we should keep a file in the order our contracts are received. (WITH THE CORRECT DATE). Keep in mind that for the first Total 100,000 US DOLLARS is 10% and after 100,000 is 15%

Example:

So for example if I made a deal yesterday on Sponsored Links for 100,000 US DOLLARS Total, today I make a deal on Global Warming for 50,000 US DOLLARS and tomorrow an TPCdeal for 50,000 US DOLLARS…the commission structure goes as follows:

Sponsored Links Comp A 100,000 US DOLLARS deal at a 40% Margin= 40,000 US DOLLARS at a commission level of 10%= 4,000 US DOLLARS

Global Warming XYZ Comp A- 50,000 US DOLLARS deal at a 50% Margin= 25,000 US DOLLARS at a commission level of 15% (After 100,000 US DOLLARS total)= 3,750 US DOLLARS

TPCCompany A- 50,000 US DOLLARS deal at 100% = 50,000 US DOLLARS at a commission level of 15% (Because I passed 100,000 US DOLLARS total)= 7,500 US DOLLARS

Total commission of 15,250 US DOLLARS + 2,000 US DOLLARS Bonus (Because you reached the goal of 200,000 US DOLLARS)

Grand Total of: 17,250 US DOLLARS(Commission) + Your Basic Salary (of course)

The procedure will be as follow:

  1. Deal signed by the client
  2. Make 5 copies- 1 for yourself, 1 for your Sales Director, 1 for Technician, 1 for Finance and 1 for me
  3. Hand it in all 4 copies to your Sales Director. Keep 1 for your own records.
  4. Sales Director will review that contract is ok and signed.
  5. Sales Director will keep a file according to date the order was received (First comes order)
  6. Sales Director will hand me 2 copies.
  7. End of procedure.

If you have any questions please discuss with your specific Sales Director.

OBS… Slightly different rules apply to Sales Director with the override (So please talk to me about it).

Best Regards,

Selling Sales

Hello Sales,

At Success Media not reaching the budget, calls for a shift of attitude!!…For those of you who did not reach the budget this month it obviously means there has to be a change on the sales structure which we have to work upon. (This doesn’t apply to new recruits over a 3 week period.)

As our company went public and because we have plenty of investors pointing at Success’s stocks right now…One thing we have to get clear is if for example your budget is 150,000 US DOLLARS and you only manage to sell for 90,000 US DOLLARS… It is great you sold for that amount!!!! Yet you are still lacking 60,000 US DOLLARS… The budget is assigned for a reason of achieving the company’s yearly goals, targets, competition and growth…not for fun!!

If by next Friday you don’t reach the budget, please write me and your Sales Director a letter explaining the reasons why you didn’t reach it… stating a precise explanation of the points you have to work hard to improve…this means it has to be according to the strategy you wrote the last time…

(Note… If your last strategy was “I will pitch hard this month” like some people still sent to me even though I asked for a professional strategy “as I assumed pitching hard was part of the basic strategy”…I doubt the budget will ever be reached)… Remember writing a professional strategy will make the difference between being “just another salesman” or a “Businessman” . So for this month structures please don’t bother sending me your strategy if it consists of: “I will pitch hard” and “work hard” statements… I want a professional one!

I believe, this will help shift the strategy towards the right place and the right goals. If you need any help structuring your pitch or strategy please ask your sales director for a meeting and help.

For the one’s Who already reached the budget like Wayne who closed 100,000 US DOLLARS last weekCONGRATULATIONS and please ignore this message. Since you reached your budget, feel free to do whatever you want with your time!!! Chat with friends, call your mom, grandma, friends, girlfriend or boyfriend, chat over the messenger, watch movies, work from the beach, home or pub, walk your dog, be sick, paint your house, fix the roof, leave early, read your emails, browse the internet, read the newspaper, take it easy, take 20 coffee breaks and 20 smokes, have some cake, play video games, have long lunches and meditate about colours.

!!!We wont care because you already reached your budget!!!

Best Regards,

Face to Face Meetings

Hello team,

For more then 5 months… I´ve been talking about the importance of face to face meetings… and for 5 months I’ve seen a total of 0 bookings. It is extremely hard to do your budget every month if you don’t do face to face meetings! I am President of this company and with all the work I have, I still manage to book face to face meetings for myself on the first call. I don’t see why you all cannot.

Today is Tuesday; this means you have 4 days to book meetings for next week. I don’t want to see ANYONE here in the office next week. You will book a total of 10 meetings for next week and I want a list by Friday of which companies you are visiting.

So start booking meetings right away!! The best time to book them is in Paris around 9:00am then you can take another meeting perhaps at 11am, later another meeting after lunch perhaps 2pm is a good time.

I want a list by Friday so you are on the count down for 4 days. Anytime soon we are looking to promote some people I will see by your performance.

Good luck and inform me of your progress.

Commission Procedure letter

Regarding the procedure for commission… Please note that you need to give a copy to the Finance department.

  7. You will give the last copy to Finance
  8. End of procedure.

Being late letter

Almost forgot! This rule (the tardiness rule) doesn’t apply to the people that do their budget!
Meaning:
· If your budget is 200,000 and you have reached 200,000 I don’t care which time you come in…

o Example 1: You can call me from the beach and tell me! I went out drinking last night Peter, I overslept and I met a couple of buddies on the way to work and decided to go for a swim…So I might go to work after lunch. That is cool for me! (Because I will look at the board and I will see that you did your sales budget)

o Example 2: I will work hard in trying to double my budget this month—even better!!!

· If your budget is 200,000 and you’ve only made 95,000 -I will care which time you come in!!!. Because you still have to work towards reaching 105,000 SEK.

o Example 1: Hi Peter, I am taking a few days off I’ve already made 50,000 SEK and I have a few deals that I know will come in next week… I just know it!. Errrrrrrr! It doesn’t count!!! People come to my office everyday telling me they have a lot cooking, a lot on the pipe and at the end of the month… The board is blank!

Lesson: Never fall in love with deals!! It is the ability to constantly close business that counts and this requires will, routines and structure! So this means… you still need to develop more structure to reach your budget!

I am extremely flexible and open minded … so let’s not abuse the privileges that have been given out! Ok? Nobody wants the old company scenario!

It would be cool to see the people that started this department move forward and help transform this company into a huge global network… Our company went public as of 2 weeks and this means the opportunities for everyone to grow in an exciting industry are possible! Let us think about which way we can contribute to make this company a cool and successful environment to work in!

Good luck!

Set Goals

Hello team,

It has come to my attention that while I’ve been away, some people have hardly attempted to sell! The comments where: “They have just been sitting down… starring at their computers and reading the news… They weren’t even writing emails” said the source.

Needless to say business won’t come running over to you and as a salesman you have to constantly try your best to get the business in. In this line of work your magic pill is call DETERMINATION.

If you are waiting for the 2 or 3 companies that will “SAVE YOU” then I believe you have the wrong attitude. In sales the difference between being successful or not, is determined by your ability and wanting to succeed. This means that you constantly have to be seeking… The road towards making GOOD MONEY IN LIFE is in SALES and it requires discipline, (constant discipline) and a warrior like attitude. Whether is here or in another company!!! Otherwise you should not be in sales.

Nobody will be behind you in this company in order to succeed I believe that is determined by yourself…

I am not just giving you a “cheesy pep talk” this is my opinion and that of many other successful people in life!

Set your goals!
